“St Luke’s is in an excellent position for long walks on your doorstep or exploring the lakes and surrounding area. The house was home from home, very comfortable, it was nice that the owners left things like bubble bath, tea, coffee, cling film, tissues etc etc it is the first house that I have ever rented that provided every day provisions, things that you don’t use a lot of but forget to take with you.
The home was lovely and clean and warm on arrival, a small enclosed yard made it easy to let Teddy the whippet out to toilet which wasn’t very often as we walked for miles on the beach and around the lagoon.
It was easy to park and people in the village were very pleasant. We had some great days out and comfortable evenings in ‘home’ surroundings. Everything you could need was in this house, well done owners and thank you for sharing it with us.” – , for a stay at 3 St Lukes.Kyla Colley
“If you want bright lights and everything on your doorstep this isn’t for you. If you want peace and quiet, in a stunning location, and a wonderful cosy cottage then look no further. Riverside cottage is set in the wonderful relatively undiscovered Duddon Valley, in a lovely location with walks from the doorstep.
Riverside cottage is perfect for walks in the Lake District and close enough to the coast to explore the Cumbrian Coast too, Hodbarrow Nature reserve in Haverigg is a nice three mile walk with Herdwicks at the end for a drink. Broughton is perfect for supplies if needed, Melville Tysons well worth a visit,as is the garage for logs. The Newfield Inn is worth a short walk or drive, cosy little pub, which serves great food. We couldn’t find fault with the cottage, everything you need for your stay is there, even the view from the bath is amazing!
The woodburner was so cosy for the chilly autumn evenings(especially with storms Ali and Bronagh blowing a gale when we were here). We spent many a happy hour sat in the two chairs overlooking the garden and river, reading, could never tire of the view.
Amanda has put a lot of effort into making Riverside a real home from home cottage, would definitely recommend this wonderful cottage.”Sandra Mitchell
“Stable Cottage is in a fantastic location and a perfect getaway for two. So much to do and see near by with plenty of suggestions and leaflets in the property and when you fill your day it’s a perfect place to come back to and chill out in.
Stable Cottage had the most amazing views from every window – there was nothing better than getting up in the morning and seeing those views from the bathroom – what a way to start the day! Lovely cottage, warm and cosy, we can’t wait to come back!”Harry Harbage
“Old Travellers Rest is a fabulous place with everything you could possibly need. Easy access and a superb location.
The place was spotless and very welcoming and cosy.
We were very impressed and would definitely stay again. A lot of hard work had gone in to ensuring we had a great stay. Everything we needed was to hand and well thought through.
Thanks so much.Sue Marsh
“Slapestones was a lovely idyllic place to stay with an extended group of eight. We had plenty of space, the house was clean, warm and comfortable.
All amenities were available from kitchen utensils to extra blankets.
Amanda left plenty of helpful recommendations of things to do so it was easy to plan each day of our trip. I’d highly recommend Slapestones!”Gita Patel
“Bank House was exactly as described, very spacious with two living rooms and a beautiful garden.
We had everything we needed and were given plenty of tips on the surrounding area.

“The cottage at Copper Rigg won’t disappoint!
It’s clean and tidy, beds were comfy and the shower was amazing.
Love a powerful shower!
The local information that Amanda sent was very helpful.
Breakfast in the village bakery was delicious and we had a lovely evening in the Kings Head. We enjoyed our stay very much. The Sat Nav took us off the beaten track on a few occasions and we were so pleased that it had.
It was a great holiday for a great price.”Angela Turner
