Slapestone's location offers literally the best of both worlds - a complete rural idyll and yet situated very close to local amenities.
southern Lake District.

Guests are advised to please be mindful of this, and to make every effort to conserve water usage, particularly in the warmer summer months. The water is filtered and safe to drink. A bottled supply of water is also provided for guest use.
A Most Charming Holiday Home
Slapestones is more than a little bit special.
Whether you have a special event to celebrate, or are taking a well earned break or a week's holiday, we think you will find everything you need at Slapestones in terms of promoting well being that the property and its surroundings eschew.
It really does have a very particular welcoming atmosphere which promotes relaxation, providing sanctuary and allowing time to unwind and recharge in a very peaceful environment.
Slapestones boasts mature gardens to three sides of the property.
Some have planted boundaries, and there is a mature rose garden, whilst the rear garden from alongside the driveway extends behind the garage and is bordered with trees. A rear porch leads out to a walled patio area which is gated to the driveway.
There is also a rear woodland area.
Rural views over the fields at Slapestones can be seen from both the front and side windows, the sheep can be spotted grazing nearby.
Slapestones has ample private, off road parking for the property, and there is room for at least four cars to park very comfortably.
Slapestones benefits from a long driveway leading up to a double garage, so plentiful private parking which is secure and available for guests.
Slapestones has two lounges.
This is the larger of the two lounges. It has three sofas for all the guests to relax together.
A log effect fire is available to make the room cosy on autumn and winter nights.
TV with freesat channels is available.
Slapestone's second lounge is a little smaller but every bit as comfortable.
Sumptious beige sofas are available to sink into for a catch up with friends.
A further TV, DVD player with a large collection of DVD's, and a selection of games are also available in this room.
Dining Room View Outside
This is the view from Slapestone's dining table to give you an impression of what it would be like to sit there looking out onto the terraced garden.
Guests who wish to bring a barbeque have very easy access to the outside from the kitchen and dining room through this door.
It's a very beautiful, light and airy room.
Slapestones guests can look forward to sitting at this characterful wooden table to dine together and enjoy the lovely ambience that this property provides.
The table seats eight guests comfortably, and all crockery, cutlery and glasses for most any occasion we could think of are provided!
On the French dresser at Slapestones you will find an assortment of leaflets detailing pleasant things to do around the area.
There is also a Visitors Welcome Manual detailing walks and more information about all there is to do in the local area.
You will also find a Household Manual which will detail how the appliances in the home work, along with household tips which is advisable to read and familiarise yourself with.
Slapestone's kitchen is completely new, and we think you'll agree has a real wow factor to it.
All the modern conveniences are supplied - an integrated dishwasher, a large fridge/freezer, toaster and kettle, microwave and washing machine. A washing line has been provided (it is up by the garage) and the pegs can be found under the kitchen sink.
There is a new Rangemaster Oven available for guests at Slapestones.
We have chosen this particularly, and we hope you feel like us that it is a very versatile cooker.
There are many lovely pubs and restaurants to sample round and abouts, but if you're tempted to cook, or you love to cook, we think this is the cooker to indulge yourself with.
The downstairs bathroom at Slapestones is situated at the end of the house, next to the smaller lounge.
This bathroom has just been designed and incorporated into the home, and the grey and black colours against the white suite make it a very stylish and modern feature for families to enjoy.
Slapestones main family bathroom is located upstairs right at the end of the corridor, quite unintrusive on the rest of the floor.
Again, this bathroom has been totally remodelled in an eye-catching stylish design, very comfortable for guests to use.
If you prefer a shower, both bathrooms are fitted with power showers .
There are four bedrooms at Slapestones, and all rooms have been designed to let in maximum light and allow guests to take in the views unhindered.
The first double bedroom is at the top of the stairs on your left.
The bedrooms are really large and this bedroom also has new vanity sink units fitted.
Super King Bedroom
The second bedroom you come to at Slapestones is a Super King Room, although we can split the Super King down and make it a large twin-bedded room if requested.
This room has also had a new vanity sink unit fitted, is light and airy with views looking out over the back fields of Slapestones.
Twin Bedded Room
Next along Slapestones landing, the third bedroom available to guests is a twin bedded room.
Ideal for children, and within easy reach of the bathroom, this room too boasts the same lovely views over the fields at the back of the property.
The fourth bedroom at Slapestones is a double. This is a smaller room but nevertheless we think it has the nicest views which can be viewed from both the windows.
Its a beautiful light room, and the soft furnishings also compliment the light. We think this room is going to be a favourite of many of our guests, and it has the added advantage of having the bathroom just next door along the hallway.
The Exterior at Slapestones
Its difficult to do justice in a photograph of quite what the grounds at Slapestones offer - although we can try!
Firstly, the grounds are far more extensive and well kept than you would genuinely expect to find at a holiday home, and we're not really sure yet whether the guests are going to compliment the exterior more than the interior!
Slapestones has its own gardener - Lewis - so don't be too surprised if he's working there sometimes.
He makes a great job of the gardens, and they are attractive to guests all year round.
You may like the quietness of the woods in front of the property, and we even have a vegetable patch where rhubarb is growing presently.
You can perhaps just make out the slate name plate on this photograph, which is attached just by the gate.
You can walk through to the back of Slapestones and the patio area from here.
There are beautiful flowering bushes and heathers along the walls, and you usually find something is in bloom around the year.
All in all, Slapestones is an excellent base from which to enjoy all that the South Lakes has to offer. In fact we think for some Slapestones will make the holiday very special and make for happy and relaxed guests.
Once sampled, we think you'll want to return. Well behaved dogs are welcome at Slapestones.
