Old Travellers’ Rest, located in an elevated position in the beautiful Duddon valley, is a comfortable, peaceful, rural holiday home set in its own grounds with gardens and plentiful private parking.
An apartment sleeping 5, Old Travellers’ Rest offers spacious and luxurious accommodation, with two king bedrooms, one at either side of the house, giving great privacy, along with a bunk bedded room for children to enjoy. There are also two bathrooms, one on either side of the accommodation, close to all bedrooms.
Old Travellers Rest is very spacious family and friends accommodation with touches of luxury everywhere. A large open plan lounge and dining area makes for a very convivial socialising space and great atmosphere.

The Perfect Location
On returning to Old Travellers’ Rest from your excursions, why not leave your outdoor gear in the handy porch, enjoy a hot shower and then stretch out on the comfy leather sofa.
In the warmer months, eating outside at the picnic table surrounded by trees and birdsong is a real treat.

Returning to Old Travellers’ Rest from your excursions is a treat, pick your spot for stress free private parking, which you can see from the conservatory is located just outside the apartment.
Old Travellers’ Rest sits in its own grounds surrounded by nature and the conservatory is a really peaceful hideaway from which to admire nature and gaze upon the fells across the way.
Old Travellers Lounge / Diner
Old Travellers’ Rest boasts very spacious open plan living quarters, ideal for families and friends to mingle together. There is plenty of information at Old Travellers’ Rest about walking in the area – there are a plentiful amount of walks straight from the door and printed walk instructions can be found to assist guests in the Visitor’s Manual, so that they can make the most of the scenic walking routes which the Duddon Valley has to offer.
There are also maps to help guests plan days out, and there are a plentiful supply of activity information leaflets too. Old Travellers’ Rest dining table is also positioned very handily by the windows so even if the weather is not permitting you to eat al fresco, the light floods in and guests can certainly still take advantage of and enjoy the views and the plethora of visiting birds!
Old Travellers Kitchen
The kitchen at Old Travellers’ Rest is a light and cheerful affair. White units complimented with wooden look worktops, this kitchen has a modern fresh feel to it, and you may notice – there is a great view of the grounds from every single window at Old Travellers’ Rest! It’s a cute, compact and very easy to use kitchen.
Old Travellers King Bedroom
Situated right at the back of the holiday home, this Old Travellers’ Rest bedroom, with it’s king size bed is decorated in beige and blues, and has a really relaxing feel to it.
Again, there are views of all the greenery surrounding Old Travellers’ Rest from the large bedroom window, and the solid pine furniture theme carries on throughout the whole of the home.
Old Travellers 2nd King Bedroom
From the second king bedroom, you can see the woods at the back of Old Travellers’ Rest from the window.
Right next to this bedroom at Old Travellers’ Rest, you will find a sitting room, so this whole rear section up several steps comprises a sitting room, bedroom and en-suite which can serve as a very private refuge for couples.
There are additional extras such as a hairdryer and blankets for extra snuggle factor on those winter nights!
Old Travellers Reading Room
Right next door to the second king bedroom, you will find Old Travellers’ Rest’s reading room.
A lovely quiet place to sit at the holiday home, and enjoy a good book, a cosy chat, or just some blissful solitude to take in those peaceful moments.
Old Travellers Bunk Bed Room
This is a great little bedroom at Old Travellers’ Rest – very cosy but with everything in it that the larger bedroom has! Ideal for children, or the climbers amongst us, who don’t mind an elevated sleeping position!
There are mobile LED lights provided at Old Travellers’ Rest, as when it does go dark in the Duddon Valley, it really does go very dark! This is a great opportunity to really see the skies and stars above Cumbria, but we realise a little light close to hand can be helpful, as most guests are used to a little more night time illumination.
We think once you have adjusted to the darker nights at Old Travellers’ Rest, they really are just the ticket for a most excellent night’s sleep.
Old Travellers Family Bathroom
A large, modern, white family sized bathroom suite awaits at Old Travellers’ Rest.
There are a couple of options for guests, a choice of taking a soak in a full sized bath, or jumping in to the separate shower cubicle for a refreshing shower.
Old Traveller’s Rest is supplied by a private water supply which is filtered for guests.
Old Travellers En-suite
Attached to the second king bedroom at Old Travellers’ Rest, is an en-suite bathroom.
This comprises a walk in shower the length of the bathroom, a washbasin and toilet.
Old Traveller’s Rest is supplied by a range of toiletry products including liquid hand soap, toilet tissue, tissues, shampoo, bublle bath and shower gel.

The one feature of Old Travellers’ Rest that guests seem to enjoy the most – easy and free parking in plentiful supply with no hassle!
Leave the car safely if you want to go off walking from the door for the day. Several tempting parking options await at Old Travellers’ Rest, all with a good view of the gardens – guests can take advantage of all these options while they stay with us!
You can perhaps just see the bench peeping out at the back of the picture – easy to see why eating outside is another tempting option – or take your morning tea or coffee there, most relaxing, you’ll be glad you did.
