Riverside Cottage, nestling next to the River Duddon in the Duddon Valley, helps you understand clearly the magic that William Wordsworth saw, and why he was compelled to write such beautiful poetry about the valley. The Newfield Inn, the local pub steeped in history, is a very scenic walk away of about a mile.
Choose a view from the window seats towards Caw Fell and The Old Man of Coniston. Or the view from the garden towards Stickle Pike and to the fells across the river. You can see Wallabarra Crag from the slate garden. Listen to the river, which can be heard from the kitchen, the bathroom and of course the garden.
